Just a second. That was all it took. In that second Anita Sherwood sees the face of the young boy in the window of the bus as it stops at the curb...and she knows it is her son. The son who had been kidnapped two years before. The son who had never been found and who had been declared legally dead. But now her son is alive. Anita knows it in her heart. She is certain that the boy is her son, but how can she get anyone to believe her? She'd given the police leads before that ended up going nowhere, so they're not exactly eager to waste much time on another dead end on a dead case. It's going to be up to Anita, and she'll stop at nothing to get her son back.
Abducted Brian Pinkerton Books
It’s the writing that makes Abducted by Brian Pinkerton special. Good writing is hard to do. Believe me, I know. But Pinkerton has the eye for detail that makes good writing, and his narrative and dialog are so realistic you can’t help but be drawn into the story.Pinkerton begins by patiently and painstakingly introducing the characters and the situation. Anita Sherwood is a workaholic mother who has just quit her job to stay at home with Tim, her infant son. Anita and husband Dennis leave Tim with nanny Pam Beckert one final time to go out to dinner to celebrate Anita’s new-found freedom from the daily grind. When they arrive home, Tim and Pam have disappeared along with five hundred dollars in cash Dennis had stashed in a drawer.
An hour after looking everywhere for Pam and Tim, Dennis calls the police. Anita is overwhelmed by police procedures as investigators search the house and surrounding neighborhood, waking neighbors, putting out an Amber alert, reporting the kidnapping to the FBI. News reporters hound Anita for interviews. Then things go from bad to worse as Pam’s Toyota is found abandoned near the ocean.
Pinkerton expertly builds suspense. This is the kind of novel you won’t be able to put down. I highly recommend Abducted by Brian Pinkerton to anyone who wants a good read.

Abducted Brian Pinkerton Books Reviews
Abducted is a terrific read...not like the usual books about children being abducted. Other readers will also find the uniqueness of the plot and the excellent writing most enjoyable.
For fans of stories with a twist and non-stop action, this book is a must-read! Explore the intense emotions involved as Anita tries to find the un-findable answers as to "why" while dealing with the reality of living with every parent's deepest nightmare. Well done, Brian!
A mildly entertaining story with an intriguing premise, but it just all came together too easily for real life. I had correctly narrowed the field of possible perps to two suspects, and I'm usually no good at that, so crime/mystery buffs would probably find this one a yawner. I didn't pass it along to my husband.
I have never read any of Brian Pinkerton's books before, but I could not put this one down. I am in Florida, on vacation, and did not even go out to the beach this morning, so I could finish this book. It is full of red herrings, and when the true culprit of the kidnapping was revealed I was surprised. I will be reading more of Mr. Pinkerton's books. I practically read this one in one sitting, and it's getting harder and harder for me to find a book like that. This one kept my full attention from beginning to end.
This was probably one of the best books I have read in a long time. It was hard to put down. There were no boring sections, no grammatical errors. It was very well written. It has a really good twist that keeps you wanting to read more. (Nothing better than a good twist that catches you totally off guard). And I liked that it was a stand-alone book that didn't require buying a next series to find out how it ends. A really good book. Glad I chose to read it.
Dennis and wife, Anita seem to have it all. They have a 2 year old son and Anita has just quit her job to stay home and take care of him. But when they return home the house is dark and the nanny's car is missing. Frantic they search the house and find their son has been abducted. They find the missing car and the nanny at the bottom of a cliff by the ocean. Fast forward two years and Anita is in Chicago for her job. Dennis and her are divorced. Then Anita sees a child that she knows is her boy. But everyone thinks she is crazy. This is a fast read with surprises you won't be able to figure out.
I picked up this novel thinking it would be like the usual child abduction novels I'd previously read. Was I surprised! Brian Pinkerton's novel was one of the best suspense novels I've read in quite some time. I bought this novel about 2 years ago where it remained in my book queue until now when I finally read it. I recommend this novel to all readers of suspense/thriller novels. The author did a terrific job developing the Anita & Dennis characters. They were complex & believable. Anita was a wonderful & empathetic character. The plot was well-developed & realistic. The conclusion was a big surprise & wrapped up all the loose ends and questions the reader had. Mr. Pinkerton did a terrific job getting into the psyche of a woman. I've never read any work by this author until now, and plan on reading more of his novels in future.
